Now that we’ve delivered our last training courses of the year it’s time to look back on the year that was and look forward to the New Year.
The continued low oil price and the resulting impact on budgets made for a very tough year for all those working in the oil & gas industry. We won’t try to pretend that it’s been easy for MDT … but, rather than dwell on the negatives, we thought we’d share some of the brighter bits of 2016.
Once again we lived up to the ‘International’ part of our name. We added to our ever growing list of Countries in which we have delivered training: Ecuador & Mozambique became numbers 77 & 78 …. Still some way to go to notch up all 197 independent countries of the world but we’re getting there!
We welcomed course participants from over 50 different Countries. From Austria to Azerbaijan; Brunei to Brazil; Congo to Cambodia; Morocco to Mongolia; Spain to South Africa … to name but a few.
Given the global nature of our business it seemed appropriate to add ‘Cultural Diversity’ to our list of course titles and it was great to deliver our first session in our home city of Aberdeen. And as we look to 2017, we are delighted to announce that we will be bringing more new course titles to the market – this time focusing on the hot industry topic of Decommissioning – watch this space!
Even the oil price is at last doing it’s bit to herald in what we hope will be a positive New Year.
Away from the day to day routine of running our own business, we also managed to continue to support those in need of some extra help via our link up with the Gathimba Edwards Foundation, a charity doing great work on behalf of disadvantaged children in Kenya. This year, our MD clocked up over 500 running miles and raised in excess of £1,500 - he was last spotted with his feet up!
It just leaves us to wish all our clients, suppliers and friends around the world a very Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!
