This course will equip delegates with the tools and techniques to manage projects of varying size, content, duration and complexity in order to achieve successful outcomes.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Prepare project strategies and plans

• Create highly effective project organisation structures ands teams

• Manage project risks

• Estimate and manage project costs

• Estimate and manage project duration

• Carry out a post project appraisal


This introductory to intermediate level workshop is aimed at those with little or no previous project management experience and who wish to improve their ability and confidence. It is suitable for Project Managers, Project Supervisors and project personnel from a variety of disciplines including engineering, construction, maintenance and information technology.

 


Computer based training and project simulations are used throughout this hands-on course. Use is made of a sample project to allow you to practise the tools and techniques being taught. This has the benefit of re-enforcing learning outcomes and making best use of class time.


Teaching examples have been developed using MS Project. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop PC with MS Project pre-installed.

At the end of the course, you will be able to retain as electronic copy all project examples created during the course. These are designed to be a helpful reference when you return to the workplace.
