MDT International is delighted to announce the exciting news that we will be working in partnership with Well Decom and Strategic Decom to offer a range of Decommissioning training courses. The 2017 courses have been scheduled to run in Aberdeen and London as Open Courses but will also be available on an In House basis.
As many operators and supply chain businesses look for ways to effectively plan for decommissioning in the most cost efficient way we are pleased to be able to offer three training courses, developed and delivered by trainers with a vast knowledge of the industry. Planning for decommissioning is a long and challenging process so providing staff with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the process is vital.
As increasing numbers of specialists, of all disciplines, transition from an E&P led industry to one increasingly focused on decommissioning and end-of-life issues, all three companies have recognised the importance of providing relevant training. The hope is that with the correct knowledge individuals will have the confidence to meet the challenges which will no doubt be faced in the future.
A two day in depth course, ‘Decommissioning – Planning through Execution’ will be delivered by Strategic Decommissioning Consultants Ltd. The facilitators all have over 30 years’ experience in oil and gas industry, specialising in decommissioning with major operators. The course format encourages discussion and opportunities for interaction and has received very positive feedback from those who have attended. The course is designed to provide an introduction to and awareness of, activities involved in the whole life-cycle of decommissioning.
Two further complementary courses are also available focusing specifically on well decommissioning. The facilitators from Well Decom have been involved with decommissioning programmes for many years and look to share their expertise with participants attending the training courses. ‘Introduction to Well Decommissioning’ is a one day ground level course for technical and non-technical staff, it is suitable for non-well engineers and others such as managers, finance and procurement personnel.
‘Well Decommissioning: Principles and Practices’ runs for three days and offers in-depth content suitable for technical staff. It is based on the Oil & Gas UK latest guidelines and covers other international well decommissioning standards, regulations and guidelines.
All courses have a number of dates scheduled during 2017 in both Aberdeen and London, full information is available here.
